Things to Do


Walking

Walk amongst heather and gorse below ravens on the Preseli hills where Stonehenge's famous stones originate. Overlooked by Carn Ingli or the Hill of Angels, these hills offer spectacular views.

A birdwatchers paradise, walk through carpets of wild flowers and along coastal paths on Strumble Head.

There are many other breathtaking walks within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.


Nevern

Tucked into the valley of the river Nevern close to the Preseli hills is this small village.


It is steeped in history with many ancient sites to see; such as a Norman church sitting atop a 6th Century clas, a Celtic cross and the miraculous bleeding yew tree.


Also at this site is the astonishing cromlech Pentre Ifan.

St David's

Visit St David's Cathedral; the smallest cathedral in the UK and the most beautiful in Wales.

Spend the day on the popular surfing beach Whitesands.

Take a boat to Ramsey Island to see seals, porpoises and nesting seabirds.


Fishguard

The local town has much to offer including a weekly farmer's market and the Last Invasion Tapestry which can be found in the Town Hall.


Melin Tregwynt

The world-famous Melin Tregwynt mill is certainly worth a visit, renowned for its Welsh blanket weaving. Award-winning Dyffren Fernant magical garden is nearby.

Beaches

Enjoy unspoiled, secret beaches and coves around Dinas Head such as Pwllgwaelod and Cwm-yr-Eglwys.

Newport beach is a large beach with white sands, perfect for wind-surfing, frisbee, cricket and just about any other sport out there. One can also find a Gold Course with 9 holes right above the beach.

Further afield one may find the Blue Lagoon at Abereiddy. Head through the fields to Traeth Llyfn for continued dramatic clifftop walks and a hidden beach with great swimming. Further down up the coast, enjoy delicious fish and chips at Porthgain.

Cardigan

A small way up the coast is the town of cardigan with the Restoration of the Year award-winning Cardigan Castle.
